SORREL MUGGRIDGE & LAURA NANNI

Sorrel Muggridge and Laura Nanni collaborate to create site-specific installations that investigate journey, distance, and translation of space; often through the process of walking.  Ms. Muggridge and Nanni propose a three-part project, “To trail isn’t always to follow behind”, composed of an installation, performance tour and a series of postcards.   The installation will be a narrative map as well as an abstract form which documents their journeys in Banff.  The performance will entail leading an unconventional walking tour of Banff based on intimate landmarks of Banff residents.  The performance will be a living cartography of Banff and will also be an adapted into an in-studio version.  The final element of their project consists of a postcard series recording the psycho-geographic walking and mapping processes used throughout the residency. The postcards used were mailed from Banff at some point in the last century and collected prior to the residency.
