RENATO VITIC

 

Renato Vitic intends to explore various public trails found within the Banff National Park and will create walking performances based on these experiences.  He would like to research local hikes and will cultivate performances and drawings.  He will also collaborate with other members of The Ministry of Walking to inspire a new a costume based walking performance through a researched route in downtown Banff.  Renato Vitic intends to complete a suite of drawings based on six performance hikes.

 

Artist biography: Renato Vitic has an educational background in Biology, Zoology and Fine Art.  He graduated from Grant MacEwan Community College in 1999 with his Fine Arts Diploma and continued to on to receive his Bachelor of Fine Art from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2001.  He is a member of the Calgary based walking collective, The Ministry of Walking.  Mr. Vitic assisted in the coordination of M:ST 3, the Mountain Standard Time Performative Art Festival in 2005 and is currently the Administrative Director of TRUCK Gallery in Calgary.
