BECKY IP
Becky Ip would like to produce a performance piece that is an extension of a work initiated in Montreal, entitled mountains and hillsides enough to climb – adventures with the 3-legged lady (2003). She is interested in meeting individuals in the tourism industry who would like to engage on a three-legged hike with her ranging anywhere from 1.5 to 4 hours. These hikes would require the coordination of the participant and Ms. Ip navigating their conjoined bodies on the trail while the local guide provides a verbal history. The official history hikes hope to question the pre-programmed manners in which tours are run and the dynamic aspects of the participant/leader relationship. These three-legged hikes would be documented through video, photo and audio instruments for the purpose of presenting them through web-based media.
