ANDREW STUCK

Andrew Stuck is working on the creation of a museum dedicated to walking.  The mission statement of the Museum of Walking is to showcase ideas, inspirations and ideologies regarding walking.    The museum will be a participatory social enterprise that facilitates a range of initiatives, projects and research.  The breadth and depth of the centre will be correlated to the capacity of invited volunteer curators who share enthusiasm for the promotion of walking through initiative participatory ideas, exhibitions, and outreach programs.

Artist biography: Andrew Stuck has an educational background in Business Administration, Ecology, Environmental Education, Heritage Interpretation and Urban Design with no formal artistic training.  He has frequently used art and creative interventions in his life and work and recently completed a course on art and activism: The Body Politic: Social and Ecological Justice.  Mr. Stuck has promoted walking for over twenty years through facilitating educational and training initiatives to adults and young people and devising creative and innovative ways to encourage participation in walking through new media.  He is founder and managing consultant of Rethinking Cities Ltd. He is also the creator of romantic walk shops and the Romantic Ribbon walking routes initiative and co-creator of Map Rambles.
